With more 200 merchants participating, nearly double the figure from last year, Taobao Maker Festival 2018 was not only the biggest yet but also the most diverse in scope. The four-day mega-event, held at West Lake in Hangzhou, Alibaba Group’s hometown, spotlighted China’s most-creative and entrepreneurial young minds. Their work offered a glimpse into the future of design in this country as well as globally.
